Logs The spectator is asked to mix the rods and arrange them on the table to give four random lines of numbers. They are then given a calculator and asked to add these four lines together. Even before the spectator has entered a single number on the calculator, the magician knows the total. This can be repeated as often as you like, with different results each time. In fact, you can perform with 1, 2, 3, or all four of the rods, there are literally several thousands of different totals. This effect conveys that the magician is a human computer and can add totals faster than any calculator. As a bonus effect, the magician can predict the Total of a reverse sides of the logs.
